Saturn V Jukebox CD Not Reading Discs - Simple Troubleshooting & CD Mechanism Replacement Process
Update - Jan 2025
If your Saturn V Jukebox displays "NoCd" when playing a CD, this guide will help you.
1. Remove all screws from the back of the machine using a screwdriver. This includes loosening the screws of the radio antenna and all screws of the two external connection ports.

Set the machine to CD mode after powering it on. Then, use the CD OP/CL button to open and close the disc tray. After the tray closes, observe the small circular disc on top of the CD:
-
A. If the white circular disc rotates when the tray closes, the CD mechanism motor connection is fine ➊. If it does not rotate, unplug and reconnect the 6-PIN ➋ ribbon cable and try again.
-
B. Unplug and reconnect the 16-PIN FCC ribbon cable ➌. After securing the connection, insert a CD again and check if it can be read.
Alternatively, unplug and reconnect both the 16-PIN and 6-PIN CD mechanism cables before testing the machine again.

If the issue persists after these troubleshooting steps, the decoder board or CD mechanism may need to be replaced.
