How to Replace a Saturn V's CD Drive
Update - Feb 2024

Replace the CD Player of the Saturn V jukebox by following the steps below:
-
Remove all screws from the back of the machine using a screwdriver. This includes loosening the screws of the radio antenna and the all screws of the two external connection ports.
-
Locate the CD player situated in the middle section, which is attached to the jukebox with four screws.
-
The four main connecting screws for the CD player are indicated by red arrows. Above the CD player, there is a media center PCB board. The two plugs labeled within the orange box are the ones connecting to the CD player; disconnect them. (They are responsible for linking to the CD player).
Tip: If you are unable to disconnect the plugs, you can use a hairdryer to heat the plugs, which will soften the adhesive seal.
-
The media center PCB board is connected to the CD player by four silver screws located above it. Remove these screws. At this point, you can fully remove the CD player.
-
Place the new CD player in its original position and reconnect the 4 main unit screws. At this time, pay attention to the front to see if the position of the CD cabin door is correct. You can adjust it slightly before fixing the screws.
-
Use four silver screws to securely reattach the media center PCB board to the top of the CD player.
-
Reconnect the two plugs on the left side. Please note the data cable on the right side, with the blue letters facing to the right.
-
At this point, you can connect the power and test if the CD player is functioning properly. Please note: After turning on the power switch on the left side of the jukebox, press "Standby" and use the "Mode" button to switch to the jukebox mode. When the LED display shows pulsating "-- --", it indicates that you have entered CD playback mode. You can now press "Open" to open the hatch.
-
If everything is functioning properly, you can reinstall the back panel of the jukebox. Pay attention to the two output ports and the radio antenna.
